Episode guide

Evolve or Perish

For thousands of years, Earth has been the galaxy's favorite reality show. Viewers across the Milky Way tune in to watch humanity stumble, squabble, and invent new ways to almost end itself. The problem is that humans evolve far too slowly, and lately the show is heading for a finale nobody ordered.

Enter Newton, maître d' of Indigo, the galaxy's most acclaimed restaurant, where an appetizer fork in a guest's temple barely counts as a problem. With a pair of twins, Em and Emone, and a ship's computer with a sarcastic opinion module, he sets a course for the most dysfunctional planet in the galaxy.

Caution Earth is a satire about a species that would rather self-destruct than outgrow its own idiocy, told by the audience that has been watching all along. Readers keep telling the author it is closer to reality than science fiction.

What the critics are saying

“Cosmic Reality TV Adventure”

“A comedic science fiction novel that transports readers into a unique and absurd universe where Earth is unknowingly the centerpiece of a cosmic reality TV show. This witty and imaginative adventure takes clear inspiration from the humorous and satirical tones of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The story blends laugh-out-loud moments, sharp social commentary, and larger-than-life characters, creating an engaging and entertaining read.”

“A highly imaginative sci-fi comedy romp.”

About the author

Gary R. Beebe Jr.

Gary sometimes lives on the planet Earth. Nowadays, he is more likely to be traveling around the more fashionable inner portion of the Milky Way, chasing down an irrational goose, having lunch at Indigo while avoiding appetizer fork mishaps, or fundraising for the galactic Save the Earthlings foundation.
